MARTHA PAUL MASENGE

She is the founder of Kahe home. she started this home in year 2000 after being pushed by her own brother who had a mental illness and suffered a miserable life full of harassment, hate and isolation and later a miserable death. This created a passion inside Martha's heart to feel the responsibility to protect and take care of the children with the same sufferings her own brother had. From a very tough beginning she started the now KAHE HOME.

OUR ARCHIVEMENTS

• We have managed to rescue over 100 children and youth with special needs from miserable social lives
• We have managed to purchase 3 hectors land for a home and a plot for the youth projects
• We have managed to raise awareness among local families on protecting and respecting the rights of the special abled
• We have managed to impact basic skills and social skill like carpentry, poultry and cloth making which have emancipated a great number of children lives.
• We have assisted the special abled to obtain basic education from government special school programme
  

Celebrating our achievements we face a number of challenges as follows:

• Increase of the center's running costs due to the global situation.
  
• Shortage of dormitories to host more number of children.
• We lack enough funds to establish projects for the youth.
• We also lack enough funds to recruit professionals like Physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, special education teachers and skilled care takers.
• We lack enough funds to expand our ongoing projects.
• We still lack a dependable cooperation from the government officials in identifying the children and youth with special needs in our local areas from the village level.
  

Our Goals

As kahe home we are pleasing to ask for more volunteers,supporters,sponsors in fully or partially to make sure we make an amazing life for these kids with special needs
